Congratulations to G. Marino for winning the Poster Session at Hyceltec 2024!
We are delighted to announce that Gabriele Marino from CNR -ITAE has been awarded in the prestigious poster session at Hyceltec 2024. This recognition is a testament to Gabriele’s exceptional research and innovative contributions to the field. The wok has been carried out in collaboration with Engie and Tue Sustinable Energy and Process Technology

About G. Marino’s Poster:
G. Marino’s poster discussed about “Catalytic activation of Periodic Open Cellular Structures (POCSs) for intensification of ammonia synthesis in membrane reactors” (CLICK HERE to know more about it)
Catalytic membrane reactor is a promising alternative for NH3 production at lower pressure and temperatures respect the HB process, since it combines the membrane separation process with chemical reactions in a single unit.
The research presented in the awarded poster was carried out within the context of the AMBHER project, conducted by the CNR-ITAE (FPMaT team) in collaboration with ENGIE and TUE.
It focused on the development of novel structured catalysts for ammonia synthesis.
A dip-spin coating method was optimized for the activation of the different Ni-Alloy POCSs (Ø = 1-2.6 cm, Length = 1.5-10cm), 3D printed by Laser Powder Bed Fusion method with different cell geometry (BCC and Kelvin and Gyroid).
The BCC and Gyroid POCS showed promising catalytic performance at 20 bar over a temperature range of 300-450°C.

Hyceltec 2024’s poster session was highly competitive, featuring numerous entries from talented researchers and professionals across the globe.
We send him a big congratulations and extend them to all the group of CNR-ITAE:
